About Domaine Foray
Domaine Foray (Foray, for short) is half artist residency, half guesthouse, in Villecien, in the Yonne valley in northern Burgundy, 1h15 from Paris by train. It's a creative home where artists work on projects while living in a small, generous community, and a peaceful getaway for travellers who want to slow down, disconnect and reconnect.
Artists come for micro-residencies in 230 m² of studios: a recording studio, a painting studio and a wood & metal workshop. Guests stay in five concept bedrooms built around vinyl, film and stories. Everyone shares a local, vegetarian table.
How it works
The two halves hold each other up. Since 2025, the guesthouse has part-funded the artist residencies, so artists only cover reduced logistical costs; in return, guests share the house, the garden and the dinner table with people making things.
Residencies run all year, from a few days to several months, alongside dated multidisciplinary sessions. The whole house can also be booked for retreats, seminars, rehearsals and celebrations.
The founders
Lena Deschamps Peugeot
Producer and experience designer who promotes art in all its forms as a tool for social connection and change. She has been creating innovative and immersive user journeys for cinema (Everybody On Deck, producing company), cultural venues and cities (Urban Expé, creative agency), theatre (la Compagnie de Passage), festivals (Madame Loyal, electronic fair festivals) and hybrid hospitalities.
Jamie Turner
Hospitality innovator and collaborator on the upcoming Channel 4 series “Help… We Bought a Hotel”, Jamie successfully reimagined a failed French hotel and 12th-century chapel, turning them into a thriving creative artist residency and cultural hub. His unique approach fosters a vibrant community, attracting artists, art-minded travellers and digital nomads, showcasing the power of arts integration for revitalizing spaces.
His vision has helped projects attract global interest, garnering over 12 million viral video views. Previously based in California, working with brands and technology start-ups and as an artist in his own right, a musician and composer who recently scored a film that won at the prestigious Venice Film Festival.

The place
Ten acres of garden between the Yonne river and the forest, next to the Château du Fey, with a 200 m² Grand Hall, a Scandinavian sauna over the valley, bee hives, a private cinema and six electric bikes.
