Micro-residencies take place all year round, giving you the opportunity to come and go as you please, according to your needs and availability, and enjoy a creative getaway. Located just 1h15 from Paris, Foray could be your new workshop just a train ride away.
Most of our artistic retreats are not funded, so some costs are borne by the artist in residence to cover logistics (see below). However, we have worked out a virtuous system which, since 2025, has enabled us to offer residencies financed in part by our commercial bed & breakfast business, allowing us to offer greatly reduced logistical costs. We remain at the disposal of artists to provide advice and documentation to help them apply for a third-party grant or other type of funding for a residency, and we are open to organizing workshops / shows / events on site that could help the artist finance his or her stay at Foray.
The cost of a retreat depends on the program and the length of your stay - the longer the stay, the lower the daily cost. It also depends on your request/need for care.
Fees include access to all areas, accommodation, studios, use of the spacious and well-equipped communal kitchen, laundry, internet fiber, printer, breakfast and dinner (we suggest a free participation for the evening meal). Lunches are self-catered, unless otherwise requested, which will result in an adjustment to the residence fee.
Accommodation consists of a large room with double bed, wardrobe, desk, private bathroom with bath, washbasin and toilet. All our rooms are charming, comfortable and bright. They overlook either the garden or the Yonne valley.
Foray is equipped with recording, painting, woodworking and metalworking studios. All spaces can be used and adapted to accommodate the creation of art, music, video, writing, dance...
