A slow session by the window, then a walk through the forest to the Château du Fey. The morning asks nothing else of you.

A nap in the long grass. Later, maybe, a walk along the Yonne or an electric bike to the Joigny vineyards for a tasting.

Music, dance, paint, words: the big rooms fill with light in the afternoon and nobody needs them but you.

The sauna at the end of the day
Bay windows over the valley, a cold outdoor shower, and the day's work behind you. This is where the two halves of the day become one evening.

A bottle, two glasses, the sun going down over the fields. The artist tells the story of their day. The muse tells theirs.

The big shared kitchen is yours in the evening. Cook with what you brought back from Joigny, and the table fills up with whoever else is staying.

The idea
Space to create for one, space to relax for the other.
The artist gets the time and the room to make something: studios open all day, and nobody to interrupt. The muse gets the valley, the forest, the sauna and a good book, at their own pace.
In the evening you meet again around the same table, with the other artists and travellers in the house. Foray is half artist residency, half guesthouse, 1h15 from Paris: a place built for exactly this.

A holiday, guilt-free
While the other one works, the day is yours, and nobody is waiting for you. Yoga in the morning, the forest path to the Château du Fey, an electric bike along the Yonne, a tasting in the Joigny vineyards, or a book on the swing seat and nothing else.
The sauna is waiting at the end of the afternoon. Bring your dog if you have one: pets are welcome here.

Where the muse wanders
The forest path leads to the Château du Fey. The river path leads to Joigny, its old town and its vineyards. By the end of the stay, the muse knows the valley better than the artist ever will.
No car needed: take the train from Paris to Joigny or Saint-Julien-du-Sault (about 1h15), then bus L802 to the village. By car, it's ten minutes from the A6, with parking at the house.
Your hosts
Jamie, the artist. Lena, the muse.
Jamie is a musician and composer who recently scored a film that won at the Venice Film Festival. Lena is a producer and experience designer, from cinema to festivals. Foray is the house they made for the two of them.
They will tell you which of them is the artist and which the muse. Ask again after dinner and you may get a different answer.

Breakfast is included and served from 8am to 11am. In the evening the big shared kitchen is yours to cook in together.
Train from Paris to Joigny or Saint-Julien-du-Sault in about 1h15, then bus L802 to the ‘Abri Cimetière’ stop in the village.
Yes, pets are welcome. In the event of damage or soiling, cleaning or repair costs will be billed.
